Reviews

Great lightweight jacket

"Have been using the Chugach jacket and pants since early spring this year. My favorite feature with this kit is the weight and feel. I hardly notice that I am wearing rain gear even in the steepest and brushiest terrain. So far, both the jacket and pant seem to withstand abrasion really well. No breathable rain gear will keep you dry if you are not standing still, but the Chugach gear dries quickly and allows for excellent ventilation. The hood is a bit small for windy alpine situations. Chugach is made of a very comfortable fabric."

Great fit super light

"Only have tried this set on at, great fit will be room for other layers under. Hopefully won't need in few weeks on elk hunt in wyoming but if I do am confident this is good purchase."

Chugach

"I absolutely love the rain gear. Exactly what i was looking for in lightweight packable. The quality is very high. Ykk zipper is always great. Water beads off the coat very nice. So extremely comfortable and quiet. Im interested to see how it holds up over time as this is my first non gortex rain coat. However I do not trust the new pfas free gortex. Now I want your storm jacket for duck hunting."

I originally ordered the Yukon

"I originally ordered the Yukon TR but could not get my hands through the neoprene cuffs several people tried with smaller hands still could not so I sent it back and got the one without the neoprene cuffs jacket would have fit right then sent it back got the one without the neoprene cuffs and it fits great though the cuffs are the issue great quality anyway"

Russ D. (5/5)

Works as advertised

"Put through the rigor on a caribou hunt with heavy winds and a constant light drizzle. Stayed warm and dry, can’t ask much more than that. Pretty packable without suffering on performance"

Brian M. (5/5)

Rain pant

"The jacket fits great, but the Chugach TR rain pants are too long. Was hoping to get a hold of somebody to try to return them for a pair that are not that long. I measured the inseam, but it’s way longer than what it was showing."

Leon G. (5/5)

Rain gear

"Lightweight and keeps you dry. Material is a little loud while walking, but does its intended job."

Anthony S. (5/5)

Light

"Lightweight, excellent zippers, pockets, and pit vents. Adjustable hood is nice, very packable. Relatively quiet for rain gear. Doesn't make much noise during regular movement. Isn't silent by any means, but rather impressed."

Nicholas P. (4/5)

Rain Jacket

"Super light weight, entirely water proof material. For the United States Ricky mountains this is the most rain jacket you will ever need."

Max P. (5/5)

Fits great in the shoulders

"Fits great in the shoulders with enough room to layer underneath. The pit zips are a must and work great for venting heat. Wore it the other day on a 3 mile walk in mild rain and kept me completely dry. Lightweight, but built tough."

Q&A

As is the problem with alot of KUIU gear for me, I am in between sizes. I am currently at 48" at the chest and 42" at the waist. Some of your items I have bought the XL is good and some it is really tight, if I go to the XXL it is huge. What is your suggestion in that area. I do know this is a loaded question. I need to get a rain gear system that is packable and light for a 8 day trip out in Wyoming for High Country Colorado Cutthroat's.
Our rain gear is sized larger than the other layers that are designed to go under the rain gear so you might be able to swing a XL, but generally we recommend sizing up when between sizes
